The field of public health law denotes the legal tools or instruments used to implement public health policy as well as the legal principles, rules, and values that constrain public and private efforts to achieve public health objectives. For the field of public health law to evolve in a rational, consistent, and timely fashion, tested curriculum and teaching materials are needed; in particular, problem-based teaching materials that can be used in schools of law, public health, and public policy, and in continuing education for public health practitioners and policymakers. This grant supports the development of teaching materials through support for law and public health fellowships that will be charged with their creation. The project will be considered successful if it yields innovative problem-based materials for courses on public health law that will help produce a new generation of leaders in public health law and ethics.
