Conference on problem-solving approaches within state courts

For the past decade, courts have been experimenting with a variety of innovative programs that incorporate comprehensive, multidisciplinary, problem-solving processes in order to address the courts' most complex and difficult cases. This grant provides support for an executive session and document development that will be both informative and instrumental in moving the problem-solving approach into the mainstream of the judicial administration. The session is intended to provide participants with a framework to guide their thinking and planning regarding how to implement problem-solving elements in their respective state court systems. The project will be considered successful if it results in a well constructed action plan and how-to manual that will assist state courts in integrating the problem-solving approach into the traditional justice system.
