Activities to promote excellence in philanthropy, 2003-2004

The Philanthropy Roundtable is a national association of more than 600 organizations and individual donors with a mission to foster excellence in philanthropy. The organization began in the late 1970s as an informal network of grant makers and donors to discuss alternative philanthropic principles and practices. Among its accomplishments since becoming a self-supporting organization in 1991 is the publication of the bimonthly Philanthropy magazine. This grant provides support for core functions, such as regional meetings and Philanthropy magazine.
