Technical assistance and direction for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars Program

The Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program was designed to augment clinical training by providing new skills and perspectives necessary to achieving leadership positions both within and outside the walls of academia in the 21st century.Stanford University is the new site of the National Program Office (NPO) for The Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program. This grant supports the NPO in providing technical assistance and direction for the Program, assisting participating institutions in the recruitment of Scholar candidates, providing administrative support to the National Advisory Committee (NAC) in selecting Scholars for appointment, and monitoring their progress. The NPO plans the Program's National Meeting, conducts annual surveys of current and former Scholars in order to update the Program's Roster and Web site, and conducts annual site visits with NAC members to each training program site. New to the Program in 2003, will be the development of a centralized curriculum to complement each individual site--the first module focusing on leadership. The curriculum will be disseminated interactively through video conferencing and additional modules will be identified for future development.
