The Foundation's program, Active for Life: Increasing Physical Activity Levels in Adults Age 50 and Older, was designed to encourage adults 50+ to increase activity levels by replicating proven programs in real-world settings and identifying and testing communication strategies for the promotion of physical activity.The Jewish Council for the Aging of Greater Washington leads a consortium of health systems, local government health organizations, and area aging groups. The purpose of this project is to test the effectiveness of implementing the Active Living Everyday group model program to increase the level of physical activity among area sedentary adults. Populations targeted are from the Greater Washington, D.C., area; northeastern Virginia; and southwestern Maryland communities.
