The Foundation's program, Active for Life: Increasing Physical Activity Levels in Adults Age 50 and Older, was designed to encourage adults 50+ to increase activity levels by replicating proven programs in real-world settings and identifying and testing communication strategies for the promotion of physical activity.First Health of the Carolinas is a nonprofit health care network. Its consortium includes the Pinehurst Chamber of Commerce, Parks and Recreation Department, and some local employer groups. The purpose of this project is to test the effectiveness of implementing the Active Living Everyday group model program to increase the level of physical activity among sedentary adults in mid-North Carolina. Populations targeted will be First Health members and several sites in Moore County.
