The Foundation's program, Injury Free Coalition for Kids: Dissemination of a Model Injury Prevention Program for Children and Adolescents, was designed to reduce and prevent injuries to children through a hospital-based, research-driven model, implemented in partnership with coalitions of community stakeholders.This grant will support efforts to: (1) build and strengthen the coalition already in place; (2) expand public education activities as well as progressing with plans to develop a city-wide emergency department-based surveillance system to monitor the childhood window fall injuries; and (3) collaborate with other hospitals in Chicago to support the Stop the Falls initiative.
