Conference for researchers and child development leaders on overcoming childhood adversity

The impact of early adversity (e.g., poverty, sexual and child abuse, poor parenting) on child development and later adult functioning is an active area of research and intervention. The purpose of this project was to bring together key researchers and child development leaders in a conference on ways of understanding, treating, and influencing the outcomes of children who have experienced early adversity. Project deliverables included a conference and the proceedings. This project was considered successful since it resulted in a completed conference and articles that will be published in a book-length edited volume or in a peer-reviewed journal.
