The Foundation's program, Hablamos Juntos: Improving Patient-Provider Communication for Latinos, was designed to demonstrate and assess institutional interventions to provide medical interpretation and translation services for Latinos who have limited English-speaking abilities.This is a planning grant under Hablamos Juntos, a Program to explore models of increasing access to medical interpretation for limited English-speaking patients, and develop explanatory signage and print materials within health care institutions. The purpose of this project is to plan for the reduction of language barriers on the outcome of health care delivery to Spanish-speaking patients and increased accessibility to the services of a major urban health care network and its social service partners.
