There have been many conferences, meetings, and trainings on tobacco control and prevention over the last several years, but few of these have focused on minority issues. This grant provides support for the planning and implementation of a forum focused on, organized by, and developed for minorities working in tobacco control. The Tobacco Control Forum for Multicultural Groups will provide multicultural groups with skills and information they need to understand the toll that tobacco bears on their communities and what they can do to counteract this burden. The Forum will be held in early November 2001, in Silver Spring, Maryland. This Forum will provide new and experienced professionals an opportunity to learn from each other, exchange information, and develop new skills.
