The Foundation's program, Hablamos Juntos: Improving Patient-Provider Communication for Latinos, was designed to demonstrate and assess institutional interventions to provide medical interpretation and translation services for Latinos who have limited English-speaking abilities.This grant supports activities of the Hablamos Juntos national program office (NPO) to improve access to health care for Latinos by exploring models of increasing access to medical interpretation for limited English-speaking patients and investigating the development of explanatory signage and print materials for these populations within health care institutions. The NPO will facilitate the award of grants, provide technical assistance, and monitor implementation and progress of grantees.
