Implementation of an employer-based coverage system for uninsured adults
The Foundation's program, State Coverage Initiatives, was designed to help states develop and implement policies that expand access to health insurance coverage. The purpose of this project is to emphasize employer-based solutions and leveraging resources to obtain more comprehensive coverage for health care services for citizens of New Mexico. By utilizing federal financial assistance through an innovative proposed Medicaid 1115 waiver, an affordable coverage product will be developed through a public/private partnership model. In addition to the employer-based system, the project will develop solutions to achieve significant coverage of very low income and unemployed individuals.
