The Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellows Program was designed as an advanced leadership program for nurses in senior executive roles in health services, public health, and nursing education who aspire to help lead and shape the U.S. health care system of the future. This grant provides support for an assessment of this program. The goal of the assessment is to gather information on nurse fellows taking part in all stages of the program. Due to the timing of this assessment, information on graduates and mid cycle fellows can be gathered, creating a vehicle for understanding how attitudes, perceptions, expectations and career plans change over time. The project will be considered successful if it provides information on the ability of this program to help create leadership capacity in the fellows and provide feedback that can be used to enrich and fine tune the program on a responsive and timely basis. This information ultimately will be used to inform the re-authorization process.
