Building a collaborative to improve care for children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is the most common behavioral health condition that affects children. There is strong evidence about the elements of care that are effective to address the morbidity and poor psychosocial outcomes associated with this disorder. However, huge gaps remain between best practice and usual practice for children with ADHD and their families. Applying successful models developed under the Foundation's Improving Chronic Illness Care national program for the treatment of pediatric asthma, this grant supports a national learning collaborative on ADHD, including scholarship funding for health care organizations and agencies serving children and low-income families. This grant will be considered successful if it develops a successful replicable strategy to improve primary care-based strategies for the treatment of ADHD.
