This grant provides support for a one-year planning effort to explore and define the role of nursing in the proposed Newark Family Drug Treatment Court. The project will include an assessment of developmental, mental health, reproductive health, and case management needs for children and parents in the Newark family court system. This project is designed to result in: four training workshops, consensus among participants on science-based interventions that will be adopted, and a plan to implement a computerized case management system. The project will be considered a success if it yields the expected results and they are applicable to other family drug courts in New Jersey.
