SmokeLess States: National Tobacco Policy Initiative

The Foundation's SmokeLess States: National Tobacco Policy Initiative is a program that supports development and implementation of comprehensive statewide strategies to reduce tobacco use through education, treatment, and policy initiatives.The purpose of this project is for the Coalition for Tobacco Free Louisiana (CTFL) to change environmental tobacco smoke policies in Louisiana by: (1) repealing preemption; and (2) activating local communities to pass smoke-free ordinances. In order to accomplish these objectives, CTFL will coordinate and expand grassroots and grass tops organizations and individuals throughout the State. Specifically, CTFL will develop action plans for media and advocacy that will be carried out by the networks of coalition member organizations.
