Planning the technical assistance and direction for Active Living Research
The Foundation's Active Living Research program was designed to support investigator-initiated research to identify and assess structural, environmental, and policy changes with the potential to increase population levels of physical activity.The purpose of this grant is to support the conceptualization and writing of the technical assistance and direction (TAD) proposal; defining staffing, functions, and budget for the TAD; and obtaining expert input on the components and operation of the National Program Office (NPO). The deliverables for this project will include: vision statement for the NPO; text and budget for the TAD proposal; draft list of research priorities and development plan; draft list of target professional groups; plan for distributing and publicizing the Call for Proposals; draft plan of capacity building needed for target professional groups; list of members and structure of National Advisory Committee; draft proposal for pipeline development; and identification of linkages to other Foundation physical activity initiatives. This project will be considered successful if it results in the completion of the necessary development work that will help ensure a successfully launched national program.
