The Foundation's Innovators Combating Substance Abuse program was designed to highlight substance abuse as the nation's number one health problem by recognizing those who are striving to bring creative solutions to the field of substance abuse.The purpose of this project is to utilize science-based information to inform the development of policy to reduce problems caused by tobacco and other drugs. The focus of this project is the evaluation of the state of knowledge by literature based research and meeting with leaders in tobacco and other substance abuse control, and the provision of new knowledge through quarterly reports and educational meetings with policy makers.
