The Foundation's Scholars in Health Policy Research Program was designed to provide postdoctoral training targeted to the most promising graduates of programs in the three disciplines of economics, political science, and sociology to advance their involvement in health policy research.This grant supports continued technical assistance and direction for the Scholars in Health Policy Research Program. The National Program Office will conduct the following activities: (1) refine and manage the application review process for the eighth class of Scholars; (2) plan and conduct the Program's seventh annual meeting; (3) monitor and assist the development of the three training sites (with respect to curriculum revision, program administration, faculty mentoring, development of research opportunities, and placement of outgoing Scholars); (4) conduct annual site visits to each of the three training sites; (5) maintain the Working Papers series as a means of disseminating Scholars' health policy research; and (6) continue marketing efforts to recruit candidates (e.g., through an updated Program Profile, the Program Web site, and sessions at the American Economics Association, American Political Science Association, and American Sociological Association).
