A Matter of Degree communications campaign
The Foundation's program, A Matter of Degree: Reducing High-Risk Drinking Among College Students (AMOD), was designed to develop model approaches to reduce student high-risk drinking on campus and in the surrounding community by developing college/community partnerships.This grant provides support for a communications component consisting of a professional media campaign to deglamorize binge drinking that would be developed through independent contractors. The key objectives are to: (1) reinforce public awareness in each AMOD campus community of the problem of college binge drinking; (2) build/reinforce public awareness of second-hand effects of binge drinking and the city's role in the problem, e.g., how it impacts the local community; (3) build/increase public support in each AMOD community for viable environmental policy solutions; and (4) evaluate the model for dissemination to national higher education community.
