The Foundation's Local Initiative Funding Partners Program, a matching grants program designed to establish partnerships between the RWJF and local grantmakers in support of innovative, community-based projects that improve health and health care for underserved and vulnerable populations. This grant project matches sponsoring faith communities, neighboring hospitals, public schools, and volunteer medical professionals and lay persons to create Health Centers to provide primary health care for 39,180 working uninsured in Central Florida. The grant will enable the program to double the current number of Centers which operate as evening clinics offering free care to eligible clients. The clinics are located in family service centers in the schools with backup urgent care, laboratory, and radiology available at the partner community hospitals.
