This grant supports the 18th Annual Network Conference--Building America One Community at a Time. This meeting, to be held in Washington, D.C., from October 12-15, is the largest community development conference in the nation, attended by more than 1,500 people. The Enterprise Network Conference provides an annual opportunity for community leaders to learn about best practices for neighborhood transformation from national leaders in the field and each other. This conference will address health topics ranging from increasing community safety to eradicating childhood lead poisoning. In the plenary session, panelists will explore "Public Health Perspectives on Youth Violence." The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's sponsorship will help defray the cost of attending the annual meeting for representatives from non-profit community based organizations. The expected outcome is the valuable exchange of information, increased understanding of how to build community infrastructure and how to use technology for community development.
