This grant supports efforts to provide culturally sensitive behavioral health interventions to 500 Native American women of the Nipmuc Nation in central Massachusetts. Foundation funds will be used to train six Nipmuc women to become community health educators and to provide home-based disease prevention and education services that incorporate both traditional and contemporary ways to address health problems. The project was developed jointly by the Central Massachusetts Health Education Center and the Nipmuc Women's Health Coalition (NWHC).
