Partnerships for Quality Education

The Foundation's Partnerships for Quality Education Program was designed to train primary care residents and nurse practitioners to deliver high-quality care for patients with chronic illnesses within the fixed-budget constraints of managed care. This funding provides support for up to 54 grants to support the training of primary care medical residents, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in partnership with managed care on the essential skills they will need to strengthen the delivery of primary care in the 21st Century. The four components of this Phase II effort include: (1) partnership support and training; (2) faculty development training institute; (3) managed care education clearinghouse; and (4) communications and dissemination.
