National Health Care Purchasing Institute

The purpose of the National Health Care Purchasing Institute (NHCPI) is to provide training and resources for top executives from major health care purchasers (i.e., Medicare, Medicaid, Fortune 100 companies, federal and state public employers, purchasing alliances). The objective is to advance the capabilities of the nation's largest purchasers so that they leverage their buying power to improve access to and quality of care, particularly for people with chronic conditions. The grantee will conduct executive courses and advanced purchasing workshops; provide purchaser networking and information sharing via Web site, monographs, and newsletters; and create a mentoring network.
