The Foundation's program, Urban Health Initiative: Working to Ensure the Health and Safety of Children, was designed to improve the health and safety of young people in urban areas by improving collaboration among youth-serving agencies and organizations.Based on preliminary findings from the Urban Health Initiative (UHI) evaluation, the research team will expand the national survey component of the study. This grant will permit the investigators to: (1) respond to the sites' increasing concerns about suburban issues by adding suburban samples for the three sites that currently do not have them in order to yield data that will both inform sites' programming efforts and enable the tracking of the changes or interactions between urban/suburban areas over time; and (2) respond to the evidence that UHI sites differ substantially from the cities in the national urban sample by adding specific comparison city samples that are demographically similar to the five UHI sites.
