Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars Program

The Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program was designed to augment clinical training by providing new skills and perspectives necessary to achieving leadership positions both within and outside the walls of academia in the 21st century. The Program offers two years of graduate-level study and research--as part of a university-based, post-residency training program--in priority areas designated by participating institutions. Scholars are expected to complete graduate-level research projects in their priority areas. To date, Scholars have conducted studies in diverse health-related fields, including problems of health care delivery and financing, clinical decision-making, biomedical ethics, medical history, and health care policy. In October 1992, the RWJF Trustees authorized continuation of the Clinical Scholars Program for 10 additional years beginning July 1, 1995. This "program" grant provides support for faculty, administrative, and other program costs.
