The Foundation's program, Practice Sights: State Primary Care Development Strategies, was designed to challenge states--through collaborations among state agencies, communities, provider groups, and health professionals schools--to improve the distribution of primary care providers in medically underserved areas. With funds from the Foundation's Practice Sights program, this follow-up project will maintain a national effort to provide computerized and electronic systems of recruitment to statewide agencies. The design of the project will combine the Practice Sights software with the National Recruitment and Retention Network and with Fred Moskol of the Wisconsin Office of Rural Health's "click able" map community profiles. By combining the Practice Sights software and the "click able" community profiles, state recruitment staff will have greater success in identifying candidates for their rural and underserved communities.
