The Foundation's program, All Kids Count: Establishing Immunization Monitoring and Follow-up Systems, was designed to support the development and implementation of monitoring and follow-up systems to improve and sustain access to immunizations for preschool children. The objectives of this project is to continue the All Kids Count (AKC) program, phase II, to complete the development and implementation of immunization registries at the state and local level. The purpose of this new effort would be to allow the strongest AKC sites and new sites to complete development of their registries by June 2000. The effort would also pursue strategies to enroll private providers, including managed care organizations, into a consolidated registry program. The National Program Office will be strengthened to provide technical assistance to a broader range of registry sites to accelerate further the pace of the registry efforts across the nation. The Foundation is recognized nationally for its leadership in the effort to develop registries to improve child health outcomes, specifically immunization.
