The Foundation's Medicaid Managed Care Program was designed to improve the quality of and access to Medicaid managed care by working with states, health plans, and consumer groups.The goal of the Medicaid Managed Care Program is to make managed care work for Medicaid recipients with chronic health and social problems. Two objectives are: (1) help state and county Medicaid agencies become effective purchasers of managed care services; and (2) support development of new service and delivery and financing models. This grant authorizes the Center for Health Care Strategies, the national program office, to make grants of up to $500,000 each to eligible entities under the original authorization.
