The Foundation's program, The Access Project, was designed to help communities protect and/or improve access to care for uninsured and other underserved populations. This Foundation initiative will provide technical assistance through data, communications, and sharing of promising new approaches to help local leaders identify, and begin to implement, new ways to ensure access to care for these populations. Staff at The Access Project will actively identify and compile information about innovative strategies and interventions emerging at the local level, and will share this information, as appropriate, with interested leadership groups in other communities around the country who seek to improve access for the uninsured. Staff will be responsible for developing policy panels, media training, seminars, Web site information sharing and management, community-level research, and state/national policy tracking.
