Smoking cessation in public housing developments

The Foundation's Generalist Physician Faculty Scholars Program was designed to strengthen the presence of generalist physician faculty in the nation's medical schools through career development awards to outstanding junior faculty in medical school departments/divisions of family medicine, general internal medicine and general pediatrics.This is a transfer grant for Jasjit S. Ahluwalia, M.D., a Fellow under the Generalist Physician Faculty Scholars Program. The original grant was awarded to Emory University School of Medicine. However, Dr. Ahluwalia moved to the University of Kansas, and this grant is now being transferred to the University of Kansas Medical Center Research Institute, Inc., to allow Dr. Ahluwalia to study smoking cessation in public housing developments.
