The purpose of this grant is to provide support for a new national, nonpartisan, private-sector led campaign to reduce teen pregnancy. The purpose of the campaign is to develop and strengthen national leadership, identify and disseminate promising interventions, heighten public awareness and involvement, and stimulate additional research about the causes and solutions of teen pregnancy. The campaign will be led by a prestigious national board. Funding for the campaign will be sought from private sources, including foundations, corporations, and individuals. The budget is estimated at $4.3 million over three years to support staff and task force activities. They hope to raise another $3 million to fund a media campaign and provide seed grants for new state coalitions. This project is being transferred from the Urban Institute to The National Campaign to Prevent Teenage Pregnancy.
