Technical assistance and direction for the Partnerships for Training program

The Foundation's program, Partnerships for Training: Regional Education Systems for Nurse Practitioners, Certified Nurse-Midwives, and Physician Assistants, was designed to address shortages of primary care practitioners in medically underserved areas through development of innovative regional education models for nurse practitioners, certified nurse-midwives, and physicians assistants that emphasize training these new professionals within their own communities. This grant supports technical assistance and direction for the Partnerships for Training program. The principal objectives are to: (1) provide technical assistance to grantees as they enter into the implementation processes; (2) conduct site visits to all grantees; (3) conduct national grantee meetings; (4) establish an electronic bulletin board system which will connect all of the program participants (faculty, employer partners, students, community agencies, and others); and (5) continue disseminating information about the program to a wide professional community.
