The Foundation's Substance Abuse Policy Research Program was designed to provide support for investigators to conduct policy research on a variety of subjects directed at helping the country reduce the harm caused by substance abuse.This project will examine the effect of alcohol and smoking prevention policies on drinking and smoking behavior and related problems among college students. This examination is intended to help policy makers identify effective strategies to prevent cigarette smoking, heavy alcohol use, and the problems associated with such use, including automobile-related and other types of injuries.
