Training program for personal care attendants for severely disabled persons
The Foundation's program, New Jersey Health Initiatives, was designed to support projects in New Jersey that develop new approaches to resolving the state's health care needs, focusing on the Foundation's goal areas.The grantee will establish and operate a special needs home health agency to provide services for severely disabled individuals who live at home, in group homes, and in supervised apartments throughout Middlesex, Morris and Somerset counties. Approximately 15 personal care attendants will be trained to provide home care and support to help individuals live independently in the community. The Matheny Home Health Agency expects to provide 4,000 personal care assistance visits and 1,300 nurse visits during the grant period.
