This grant provides start-up support for Join Together to develop a national tobacco control World Wide Web site. It will build on Join Together's successful experience creating an on-line substance abuse resource (nearly 1,000 documents distributed daily to community groups). It will represent the first national World Wide Web site ever developed devoted to tobacco issues. The project will address three primary populations: professionals in the tobacco prevention and control field, teens, and tobacco users. This central repository will be a library of information, statistics, and news targeted at these key audiences. It is expected that the dissemination of information through the Internet will help strengthen tobacco prevention and control activities in this country.
