Study of immigrants' access to health insurance coverage and health services

This study will analyze existing datasets from the six states with the largest recent immigrant populations in order to expand our understanding about health insurance coverage and service utilization by these populations. The National Health Interview Survey and the Current Population Survey will be the sources of data to be analyzed. Additionally, experimental analysis of these data sets will be conducted to explore the feasibility of differentiating between legal and illegal immigrants with regards to their utilization and coverage. It is expected that this research will contribute significantly to what is a large knowledge gap in an area that is increasingly volatile politically.
