The purpose of this project is to provide technical assistance and training to community groups interested in changing environmental norms and standards regarding use of alcohol and tobacco. This project will: (1) provide intensive training to 100 community leaders annually in the skills of media advocacy, multicultural coalition building, community organizing, and strategy development to influence local ordinances and regulations; (2) provide on-site technical assistance to trainees; and (3) develop and disseminate resources to support training and local activities (such as fact sheets and research summaries).
