Under this grant, through intensive technical assistance and training, six juvenile justice systems will plan and implement community-based, comprehensive programs focusing on substance abuse prevention and early intervention, and other services such as education and job training. Using elements of successful models, it is anticipated that these community-based systems will reduce substance use and criminal behavior among delinquent youth.
