The Foundation's Service Credit Banking in Managed Care program was designed to provide technical assistance and information for replication of service credit banking programs and demonstrate the feasibility of establishing a financially self-sustaining project within a managed care organization.This grant supports technical assistance and replication of the service credit banking (SCB) concept. The NPO staff will determine the feasibility of establishing a self-supporting service credit banking model within managed care organizations and, if successful, disseminate information about the model to interested organizations. Several interrelated objectives are included: (1) implement a managed care organization/service credit banking (MCO/SCB) model at Family Medical Group in Los Angeles, California; (2) if successful, expand the MCO/SCB model in five additional sites; (3) establish an Information Center to provide resources to developing SCB sites; (4) create a newsletter for disseminating information on SCB activities; and (5) conduct site visits and an annual conference on SCB.
