The Foundation's Local Initiative Funding Partners Program is a matching grants program designed to establish partnerships between the Foundation and local grantmakers in support of innovative, community-based projects that improve health and health care for underserved and vulnerable populations.This grants supports technical assistance and direction support of the Local Initiative Funding Partners Program to be handled by Ruth S. Hanft, PhD. Currently a research professor at George Washington University, Dr. Hanft managed this program for the Foundation during the two previous rounds of funding. The budget for the technical assistance includes part-time salary for Dr. Hanft, full-time salary for a program director and secretary, office expenses, staff travel to conduct site visits on present grants and new applicants, honoraria and travel expenses for a technical review committee, and costs related to the selection meeting.
