The Foundation's program, State Coverage Initiatives, was designed to help states develop and implement policies that expand access to health insurance coverage. The purpose of this project is to provide technical assistance and direction for the State Coverage Initiatives. The principal objectives of the project are to: (1) convene regional conferences of key state policymakers and national and state health policy experts to consider reform options; (2) conduct individual state workshops for policymakers to define objectives and analytical needs, reach consensus on options, and implement reforms; (3) prepare and disseminate policy papers and technical monographs on issues of interest to all states; and (4) conduct annual meetings of program grantees.
