Faculty Fellowships in Health Care Finance - John L. Ford, Ph.D.

The Foundation's Faculty Fellowships in Health Care Finance program was designed to permit selected university faculty to enhance their research ability and expertise in the area of health care finance.The goal of this project is to study the provision of uncompensated care by selected hospitals in California, Florida, and Texas. The primary objectives are: (1) explore the question of how much uncompensated care is provided by hospitals before and after a change in their status from not-for-profit to investor-owned; and (2) identify essential components of NFP hospitals in three states which make them prime candidates for investor ownership before and after the introduction of PPS.
