Faculty Fellowships in Health Care Finance - Carlos A. Munoz, Ph.D.

The Foundation's Faculty Fellowships in Health Care Finance program was designed to permit selected university faculty to enhance their research ability and expertise in the area of health care finance.The goal of this project is to study physician competition and Medicaid participation among young physicians in order to suggest policy routes to improve access to health services for the Medicaid population. The primary objectives are: (1) collect data from the AMA, Physician Payment Review Commission and other sources; and (2) analyze the relationship among young physicians' decisions about practice location, whether to attend Medicaid patients, and the type of employment arrangement utilized (self-employed or salaried).
