This project, commissioned through the Foundation's Office of Health Statistics and Analysis, is to conduct a survey of the Chief Executive Officers of the 1,000 largest U.S. corporations (Fortune Industrial 500 and Service 500). A telephone questionnaire will be used to obtain their views on: (1) the current state of affairs in the health care system; (2) the need for reform in the health care system, particularly with regard to health insurance; and (3) the changes that should be adopted in the future. The Gallup Organization will provide the Foundation with a detailed report of survey findings, along with a data tape and documentation. It is expected that these findings will make a significant contribution to the national public policy debate over health care reform and, particularly, universal health insurance coverage.
