Program to provide substance abuse policy information to the states

Under this grant, the Intergovernmental Health Policy Project (IHPP) at George Washington University will produce several reports designed to inform state policymakers on a wide range of substance abuse related issues. The main documents are: (1) a summary of all legislative and major administrative actions taken by each to reduce the demand and supply of illegal drugs and alcohol in 1990 and 1991; (2) a 50-state Medicaid program substance abuse coverage analysis; (3) a three-state pilot effort designed to identify barriers that delay the flow of federal and state substance abuse grant dollars to community providers. Foundation funds provide partial support for this effort.
