The Foundation's Dental Services Research Scholars Program was designed to enable dental faculty committed to academic careers to acquire research skills to study the financing, organization, and delivery of dental health services in the U.S.The purpose of this project is to help advance an organized communications network among the Scholars and preceptors who participated in the Dental Services Research Scholars Program. Over the eight-year life of the Program, the annual meetings of the Scholars and preceptors served as the hub of a communications network which was without precedent nationwide on the scientific study of dental services. With closing of the Program at the end of August 1990, support for this scholarly network will also close. This project will help continue the network independently of the Program for another three years with the cooperation and sponsorship of the American Association for Dental Research (AADR). By the end of the three-year grant period, the communications network should be sufficiently strong to become established as an integral component of the AADR.
