The Foundation's School-Based Adolescent Health Care Program was designed to strengthen the capacity of communities and families to meet the multiple health and health-related needs of adolescents by utilizing local public secondary schools as a principal locus of care.This is a second-stage grant awarded under this19-site national program to provide comprehensive health services to approximately 2,300 adolescents at Miami Northwestern High School. It is expected that approximately 30 percent or 690 students will utilize center services, generating approximately 2,963 encounters with the nurse practitioner and 280 encounters with the part-time physician. Increases are anticipated throughout the four years of the grant. Medical services are provided by Jackson Memorial Hospital.
