Hospital-Based Rural Health Care Program
The Foundation's Hospital-Based Rural Health Care Program was designed to strengthen the ability of rural hospitals to provide high quality care and to promote the financial viability of these institutions.This is a two-year grant under Phase II of the Program. In Phase II, the grantee will: (1) implement in all 10 consortium hospitals a quality assurance/physician peer review necessary to meet licensing requirements; (2) develop and implement at least 5 consortium hospitals a shared financial management program including standardized billing procedures and CFO services; and (3) provide technical assistance in the administration of the teleradiology network developed during Phase I and continue to leverage the consortia's purchasing power through discounted contracts for services. Individual assistance will be provided for five hospitals on issues of service reconfiguration and conversion.
